After doing hours of research on light therapy lamps & devices to help me with my Circadian rhythm disorder I found this light. When it arrived I only used it for 15 minuets a day for the 1st week, then 20 for 3 day’s until I was at 30 minuets a day. The very 1st night around midnight I was sleepy, I went to bed thinking I would wake up in an hour or so...imagine my delight when I woke up at 7:30 AM! On the days I sleep late I only use the light for 5 or 10 minutes to really wake myself up so that I’m able to go to sleep earlier. Reversing a circadian disorder is a process but I am committed to reversing mine and having my day in the sun.

This light therapy is AMAZING!!! If you have a hard time on rainy or cloudy days where you get depressed or the blues, this is wonderful! This was a life saver for me trying to reset my schedule waking up at 4am. I just turn it on when i wake up in the morning, and after about a week, I was back to automatically waking up without my alarm on time.I LOVE this lamp! I also turn it on sometimes in the afternoon when i start to get a bit drowsy at my desk, and it wakes me up as if though i've walked outside in the sunshine!

I really like how this has a very small footprint. I put it on my bedside table and turn it on when my alarm goes off and I sit up and watch the morning news. I've only had it a few days, but I do seem to be feeling more awake when I get to work. It used to take me until lunch time until I felt like I was really with it, and now I feel like I'm fine as soon as I get there. For me that's worth the price.

Light is the biggest external factor that controls our body clock. It influences our mood and energy throughout the day. Human bodies are programmed to run in sync with natural light of the sun.

Our lamps mimic the color and brightness of the sun. They are an easy and effective way to getting exposure to bright light indoors.

Light via eyes - When bright light enters the eyes, it stimulates specialized receptors cells that sets your body clock and regulates our sleep/wake cycle, energy and mood levels.

You don’t need to stare at the lamp. The light is meant to shine at your eyes indirectly. This means you can use a Circadian Optics while you’re working at the computer, watching TV, reading, etc.


In the morning. Exposure to bright light in the early part of the day stimulates receptors in your eyes and sets your body clock. Morning light is most effective in helping us be awake, alert and energetic during the day.

Our suggestion is to set up the lamp next to you at your work desk or breakfast table. Experiment with the light intensity and session duration until you find a routine that’s comfortable and effective for you. For most people, that’s 15 to 60 minutes a day, but your needs may be different.


The bright lights used in light therapy are extremely safe and there are no indications that light boxes cause any damage to the eye. Our lamps are UV-free - so if you are worried about your skin or have been told to avoid UV, this won't be a problem.

A few people experience side effects but these are usually only mild including headaches, eyestrain, nausea and hyperactivity. This can usually be solved simply by switching off the light and, over the next few days, gradually building up the time you spend in front of it to find a usage time that works best for you.

Circadian Optics advises anyone with major eye problems to consult their doctors before starting any form of light therapy.


Yes, we recommend that the lamp to be used daily, especially in the morning.


Glasses or contact lenses will be fine if they're clear. On the other hand, sunglasses, photo-sensitive or tinted lenses will reduce the effectiveness of light therapy because less light will reach the all-important receptors at the back of your eyes.
